HELP WANTED:
The Oklahoma School for the Deaf is now accepting applications for a Speech Language Pathologist.
The announcement will be open from August 23, 2016 untill the position is filled.

Essential Functions: This position evaluates and diagnoses communication disorders of speech/language using standardized instruments to determine appropriate treatment; screens students for hearing problems; develops and writes individualized speech and language treatment programs; conducts individual and group speech to correct speech and language problems; writes reports on results of speech evaluations and therapy and makes recommendations for treatment; conducts conferences with teachers and parents to discuss speech language treatment goals and exchange other information about the students; provides technical assistance and training to staff, parents and the community on techniques of facilitating language development; charts treatment, progress and attendance and maintains student files.

Preference may be given to applicants with expressive and receptive sign language skill with fluency in American Sign Language. Applicant must be willing to perform all job related travel.

Salary: Annual salary up to $55,788.00 based on education and experience. Employees are provided paid health, dental, life and retirement benefits as well as an option to participate in the Stateís tax-deferred annuity program.

Education and Experience Requirements: Masterís degree in speech/language pathology and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.

In addition the candidate must be certified by the Oklahoma State Department of Education as a Speech Pathologist.
