Katie Pletcher is an Early Development Specialist in OSD’s Family and Early Childhood Services Department. Katie graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education and Master’s in Deaf Education. She is also a certified interpreter for the state of Oklahoma.
Katie joined OSD in 2009 as a teacher of Deaf and hard of hearing students with additional disabilities. She maintained that position until 2013 when her daughter was born. In 2017, she returned to OSD to help re-establish the ECCO program which was an early intervention program working with families with Deaf and hard of hearing children on communication goals. Katie has guest lectured at USAO on several occasions. In addition, she also has been a presenter at the International Deaf Symposium held in Dominican Republic for the past three years presenting to Deaf educators, principals, and parents from all over South America.
