Outreach and Support

The Oklahoma School for the Deaf Outreach Program plays a vital role in raising awareness about OSD and the wide range of services we provide. Our goal is to ensure that deaf and hard-of-hearing students, their families, public schools, and the broader Oklahoma community have access to the resources and support they need to succeed - academically, socially, and personally.
The Outreach team is made up of experienced professionals from across OSD who work together to deliver services statewide. As a recognized resource on deafness, OSD partners with families, school districts, educational agencies, and community organizations to address the unique language, communication, and educational needs of children and students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Our outreach efforts include:
- Training and support for public schools to improve Deaf education practices and communication access. To request for professional development training or support, please use the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Outreach & Accessibilities: PD Training Form.
- Educational Consultation for Oklahoma Schools for providing consultants with schools that have 10 or less Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students. To request educational consultation, please use the Educational Consultant Services Form.
- Early Intervention Services that equip parents and caregivers with tools to advocate effectively for their children’s education and well-being. To make a referral if you identify a baby from birth and age five with hearing loss, please use the Family Engagement and Early Language Supports Referral Form.
- Telecommunication Equipment Distribution Program provides equipment for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and speech-impaired individuals across Oklahoma to stay connected with family, friends, work, and community resources. - Community programs that extend services and advocacy to adults who are deaf or hard of hearing, promoting lifelong learning, inclusion, and engagement.
Through these efforts, OSD is committed to improving the quality of life and educational outcomes for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals across Oklahoma, ensuring they have the support they need at every stage of life.
